Can You Mix CBD Oil With E-liquid?

Vaping is a huge hit these days, and many vapers also use CBD products to improve their overall health. That brings the question of is it possible to fuse CBD oil with your favorite e-liquids? The short answer is yes, but you should know that the nicotine in the e-liquids negates some benefits of CBD.

With that said, the type of CBD you use is also essential. Sublingual oils won’t do the trick, and even if you use the right oil, you have to mix things correctly. Keep reading and learn everything you need to know about mixing CBD e-liquid with your favorite e-juice flavors.

Never Use Sublingual Oils With E-Liquids

It shouldn’t be a surprise that you can’t combine sublingual oils with e-liquids. Vaporizers simply can’t burn through thick oils that contain various agents such as coconut, hemp, or olive oils. The simple explanation is that those agents simply don’t mix with the VG and PG found in e-liquids.

Sure, they might seem the same when you look at both ingredients, but make no mistake - oils can’t be heated or inhaled. VG and PG are added to e-liquids to create vapor, and that recognizable throat hit vapers love so much. If you mix your e-liquid with sublingual CBD, your device won’t be able to burn the oil, produce vapor, and could even explode or get damaged. And besides, who wants to vape olive oil in the first place?

CBD Has No Nicotine

You probably already know the fact that CBD oil doesn’t have any nicotine inside of it. Moreover, high-quality CBD oils are 100% pure, so they don’t have any other ingredients except CBD.

It’s also important to know that some CBD e-liquids are already mixed with nicotine before packing, but you can only find them in the US. It’s still unavailable in most other countries around the world.

These types of e-liquids are made to be safe, but the nicotine could lead to addiction. Nicotine e-liquids are popular among people who used to smoke, while most other vapers prefer vaping CBD oils with 0% nicotine. After all, it’s just a matter of personal preference.

How To Make Your Own DIY CBD E-Liquid

Mixing your e-liquid is not that complicated since you only need a few ingredients that are not hard to find. While the process might seem difficult at first, it takes only a few tries until you get the hang of how everything works. But before we get into the details, here’s a list of items you’ll need to mix your e-liquids with CBD oil:

  • A large pan of water
  • A baker
  • Thermometer
  • Scales

Once you have all of the required dishes and equipment, you also need the following ingredients:

  • Vegetable Glycerine or VG
  • Propylene Glycol or PG
  • CBD Isolate
  • Flavoring
  • Nicotine

When you’re sure that you have everything, follow these steps to mix your own DIY CBD E-liquid.

Step 1:

Fill your big pan with boiling water and heat it on a low setting. Add both VG and PG into the beaker in a 50-50% ratio for starters. If you use too much VG, the CBD oil won’t be able to fuse with the mix. When you’re happy with your mix, place the baker with the oil inside the hot water.

Step 2:

Wait for the oil to warm up and keep stirring the mix until it reaches the optimum temperature of 60 degrees C. That’s the temperature that binds CBD with the VG and PG. Keep stirring the mixture until all ingredients mix to perfection. It takes anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour for the process to end. Make sure that the temperature stays around 60 degrees the entire time.

Step 3:

Once your CBD isolate becomes invisible, you can pour the e-liquid into a cup and wait for it to cool down. Once it’s ready, you can add any flavoring you like and your DIY CBD E-liquid is ready for vaping.

Mixing Commercial E-liquids With CBD

If you want to mix existing e-liquids with CBD, the process is a little different. Here’s what you need to get started:

  • Your favorite e-liquid
  • High-quality CBD booster shot
  • A vaporizer

Take the CBD booster and mix it with the e-liquid of your choice. Pour both ingredients into the vaporizer and shake it until the liquids mix. The amount of CBD you should use depends on your overall body mass and the strength of the CBD itself.

Start with low doses and work your way up until you find the perfect ratio. Instead of using CBD oil, this method requires you to use CBD boosters designed to allow direct mixing with e-liquids.

The Bottom Line

As you can see, it doesn’t take a lot of effort to create your CBD-infused e-liquids. You can either make the entire mixture yourself or mix vaping CBD with your favorite e-liquid in a matter of minutes. As long as you use CBD made for vaping, you will be just fine.
